Soak up the sun or relax in the shade
The powdery white sands of Volivoli Beach are the perfect place to kick back, unwind and enjoy total relaxation.
Choose a spot on the long white sand spit which marks the most northerly point of Viti Levu – simply lie back and gaze out at the clear water and our neighbouring islands and listen to the gentle lapping of the waves.
Or if you’d prefer some shade, the grass under our striking flame trees is the ideal spot to lounge around with a book or some good company and good conversation.
And in the evening, many guests like to sit at the picnic tables or lie back in a hammock on the beach, to watch the stunning sunsets.
Volivoli After Dark
Things liven up after dark at Volivoli Beach. Whatever your mood, you'll find something to do. There's a late-night party in the main bure, kava ceremonies and cultural dancing, or relax by a bonfire on the beach under the stars.
After dinner, the staff put on a cultural entertainment show including traditional Fijian dancing and incredible fire twirling performances.
Plenty of beer, kava and great music are guaranteed every night in the Beach Bar! The bar has a thatched roof, long polished wood bar, beer on tap and plenty of dancing space on the sandy floor.
For those seeking something more peaceful, simply wander onto the beach where you’ll find a bonfire, and some good company to talk the night away under a big starry sky.
Drinking Kava is an important part of Fijian tradition and culture. Made from the ground roots of the yaqona plant, Kava is served in a large wooden bowl, known as a tanoa, and looks a little bit like muddy water! Don’t be put off by the look though – drinking Kava is a very sociable way to pass an evening, and you may discover that after several bowls you feel its mild sedative effect, including perhaps a slightly numb tongue!
